The AOD cable series is an active Micro HDMI plastic optical fiber cable with detachable HDMI (A), DisplayPort, DVI-D and HDMI A with EQ sub-modules. Because the modules are detachable the cable can be used in different configurations. HDMI module with EQ and USB port is available to provide power in case of insufficient bus power and when daisy chaining cables. ^{*1)The size of HDMI type D connector is 12.6mm making it possible to fit conduit with a diameter of 22mm.}

This makes it possible to use cable where normal DVI-D and HDMI cables would not fit. ^*2

When using HDMI-HDMI and DP-HDMI the maximum bandwidth is 18Gbps and supports resolutions of up to 4K UHD@60 4:4:4. HDCP and HDR are also supported. Using single link DVI-D modules the maximum bandwidth is 4.95Gbps. The AOD utilizes a cutting edge "Japan-made" perfluorinated Graded-Index Polymer Optical Fiber (GI-POF) technology cable wire that offers high transmission bandwidth with low attenuation. While the typical AOC with Glass Optical Cable (GOF) wires are said to endure a bending radius of 15 to 20mm, POF does not break at a small bending radius of only 5mm - it also provides a high flexibility of resistance to repeated bending.

The cable wire is also coated with a fire-retardant plastic jacket compliant with UL444 CMP, plenum cable that ensures the prevention of fire and noxious smoke spread at plenum space installation.

An HDMI module with EQ and USB port is available to provide power in case of insufficient bus power and when daisy chaining cables. It also supports HDR and CEC.

Meets plenum cable standards UL444/CMP

The AOD cable wire is coated with a fire-retardant plastic jacket and is compliant with UL444 CMP standards. It ensures the prevention of fire and the spreading of noxious smoke.

Light and compact

AOD POF cable is about 30% lighter than normal copper cable. 30 meters of AOD is only around 300g weight with 5mm diameter, equivalent to AWG12.
